The format and the content for the exam is available on Oracle\u2019s education site \u2013 <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/learn.oracle.com\/ols\/learning-path\/become-oci-architect-associate\/35644\/75658\" target=\"_blank\">Become an OCI architect Associate<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would absolutely recommend a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/reviewnprep.com\/blog\/how-to-prepare-for-oci-foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\">refresh of the OCI fundamentals<\/a> before jumping into the OCI architect course. This blog would clear your fundamentals on OCI. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I went through the course once at 2x speed and captured most of the information in a word document. This verb does not allow the ability to create or delete any type of resource.<\/li><li>Manage \u2013 Includes all permissions for the resource<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.cloud.oracle.com\/en-us\/iaas\/Content\/Identity\/Concepts\/policygetstarted.htm\" target=\"_blank\">IAM-Policies<\/a><ul><li>The most common format of an IAM policy is listed below \u2013Allow &lt;subject&gt; to &lt;verb&gt; &lt;resource type&gt; in &lt;location&gt; where &lt;conditions&gt; . The subject can be an IAM user, group, resource group etcetera<\/li><li>Please pay special attention to managing <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.cloud.oracle.com\/en-us\/iaas\/Content\/Identity\/Tasks\/managingusers.htm\" target=\"_blank\">users<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.cloud.oracle.com\/en-us\/iaas\/Content\/Identity\/Tasks\/managinggroups.htm\" target=\"_blank\">groups<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.cloud.oracle.com\/en-us\/iaas\/Content\/Identity\/Tasks\/managingdynamicgroups.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Dynamic groups<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.cloud.oracle.com\/en-us\/iaas\/Content\/Identity\/Tasks\/managingnetworksources.htm\" target=\"_blank\">network resources<\/a>. You must especially understand that if you want to provide a specific role to a compute instance, you need to attach a dynamic group to it so that it is identified as \u201cprincipal\u201d and it can make API calls against other services on OCI.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/reviewnprep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/image-10.png\" alt=\"OCI IAM\" class=\"wp-image-448\" width=\"520\" height=\"306\"\/><figcaption><strong>OCI IAM<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.cloud.oracle.com\/en-us\/iaas\/Content\/Identity\/Tasks\/managingcompartments.htm\" target=\"_blank\">IAM-Compartment<\/a> \u2013 Compartments are another way to manage your resources by relating them together and accessed by groups that are given permission.<ul><li>It must be understood that each resource can belong to one and only one compartment. However, resources can be shared across compartments.<\/li><li>Resources can also be moved across compartments once they have been created.<\/li><li>Compartments can have sub compartments that can go six level deep.<ol><li>COMP1 &gt; COMP2 &gt; COMP3 &gt; COMP4 &gt; COMP5 &gt; COMP6<\/li><li>These sub compartments inherit access permissions from compartments higher up the hierarchy<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>When an IAM policy is being created, it must be specified which compartment to attach it to.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>IAM Policy Inheritance and Attachment<ul><li>Understand how IAM policy inheritance work when resources are moved across compartments.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.cloud.oracle.com\/en-us\/iaas\/Content\/Tagging\/Tasks\/managingtagsandtagnamespaces.htm\" target=\"_blank\">IAM-Tags<\/a><ul><li>Tagging is an additional method to identify\/categorize your services inside your compartments.<\/li><li>Free form and custom tags are allowed under OCI.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.oracle.com\/en-us\/iaas\/Content\/Network\/Concepts\/overview.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OCI Networking<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It should be emphasized that you must have an understanding of creating public and private networks and how all private networks use CIDR ranges identified under <a href=\"https:\/\/tools.ietf.org\/html\/rfc1918\">RFC 1918<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The major networking components of OCI networking is listed below &#8211;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.cloud.oracle.com\/en-us\/iaas\/Content\/Network\/Tasks\/managingVCNs.htm\" target=\"_blank\">VIRTUAL CLOUD NETWORK (VCN) and Subnets<\/a><ul><li>Default route table<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Default Security list<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Default DHCP options<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>VNIC<\/li><li>PRIVATE IP<\/li><li>PUBLIC IP<\/li><li>IPV6<\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.cloud.oracle.com\/en-us\/iaas\/Content\/Network\/Tasks\/managingDRGs.htm\" target=\"_blank\">DYNAMIC ROUTING GATEWAY<\/a> (DRG) \u2013 Connect on-premises networking and use it to peer VCNs across regions with remote peering gateway.
