The Certification for Bank Auditors (CBA) is designed for bankers willing to achieve greater experience and insights in the field of Internal Auditing.
The current CBA is an enhancement of the AICB’s Certificate in Internal Auditing for Financial Institutions (CIAFIN).
Who Should Apply for Certification for Bank Auditors (CBA)?
An accounting professional who specializes in regulations, auditing, and business law.
They are awarded certifications by the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers. Individuals must pass an exam within three and have two years of experience with a degree or one year’s experience with a Master’s Degree.
CBA Enrollment Requirements
Standard Route (Enrollment into CBA Module 1)
Candidates must have completed and attained one of the following:
Degree holder; or
Certificate or Diploma holder with three (3) years of audit or banking experience; or
SPM or equivalent qualification with six (6) years of audit or banking experience.
Accelerated Route (Direct Enrollment into CBA Module 2)
A pass in Module 1 is a prerequisite to Module 2.
Candidates must have completed and attained one of the following:
Completed CIAFIN; or
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent certification; or
Professional accounting qualifications which are recognized by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) with three (3) years of banking audit experience

Assessment Details
The CBA Program is further divided into two Modules.
CBA Module 1
CBA Module 2
- Number of Questions: 100 and 80 multiple-choice questions respectively
- Exam Time: 2.5 and 3 hours respectively
- Passing Percentage: 60%-79%
